PINAG-AARALAN ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang nationwide adoption ng rapid alert system upang mapabilis ang pag-uulat at pagtugon sa mga emergency sa mga paaralan, kasunod ng mga naitalang insidente ng karahasan sa loob ng ilang paaralan.
Ayon kay PNP Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., pinag-aaralan ng pambansang pulisya ang institutionalization ng “Build Partnership. Early Detection. Swift Alert. Tactical Response” (B.E.S.T.) School Alert and Rapid Response System.
“We are exploring the institutionalization of this rapid response system to further help us identify and respond to threats in schools, as well as ensure better coordination and swift action in any incident or challenge,” ani Nartatez.
Ang technology-based platform ay binuo ng PNP Calabarzon at nagbibigay-daan sa mga paaralan, pulisya at local stakeholders na mabilis na mag-ulat ng insidente, magbahagi ng impormasyon at mag-coordinate ng response.
Batay sa pilot program sa Calabarzon, nasa 155 paaralan ang inaasahang gagamit ng application bilang bahagi ng organisadong alert at response mechanism.
Maaari ring makipag-ugnayan ang PNP sa Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) upang mapaunlad at mapanatili ang platform sakaling ipatupad ito sa buong bansa.
“Technology is a critical aspect of our security and law enforcement, and our personnel must have access to modern facilities and training innovations to improve our security systems,” paliwanag ni Nartatez.
“We have skilled police experts, and we are also equipped with advanced technology that can help us elevate our emergency response techniques,” ani Nartatez.
“Now is the time to utilize them properly,” dagdag ng PNP chief.
Nauna nang sinabi ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla na pinag-aaralan din ng DILG, kasama ang PNP, ang pagbuo ng quick reaction teams na tutugon sa emergencies sa mga paaralan.
Ang hakbang ay kasunod ng mga insidente ng karahasan sa mga paaralan, kabilang ang pamamaril sa Banga National High School sa South Cotabato noong Setyembre 18.
